Today is the entry deadline for the AT&T Byron Nelson qualifying. So even I am signed up already long time ago, I did not know which course I play before two days ago.
The qualifying is played on two different courses at Firewheel Park in Garland Texas which is north of Dallas. The field is even split over the two courses with 12 qualifying spots available per course.
I will play the Bridges course which is their flagship course and has an own practice facility and clubhouse. The course has bentgrass greens. Even I love Bermuda greens getting feel for the bentgrass greens within one day of practice is a bit easier coming from Europe as Bermuda greens play very different. But yes it is no problem as I love to play on both types of greens anyway.
As there is quite a strong field qualifying is a real challenge, but again that’s exactly what I like. So I am really looking forward to it.
If you want to follow my scoring you can find the leaderboard here:
When clicking on my name you can see even my scorecard per hole and my playing stats. That’s a cool function so you can check how I played.
If I make it through the qualifying on 4th May I will play the second qualifying round on Monday the 9th at Hurricane Creek. And if I make it there you can watch me in the tournament on TV.
Apart from the AT&T qualifying I am going to play the US Open qualifying on 16th of May. That will take place as well at Hurricane Creek Country Club. That’s actually quite cool as I know the course then already a bit. So lot of challenges and great golf to come.
