Let me quickly introduce myself. My name is Michael Sombroek and I am PGA Professional and member of the PGA of Germany more than 25 years. I was born in 1975 in Cologne and grew up with sports as my father had studied sports at the university in cologne. I started to play golf when I was about 12 years old and started my career as professional golfer when I was 19 after finishing high school.
During my time as an assistant professional I have worked at MGC Bad Ems which is one of the oldest exclusive golf clubs in Germany. I have learned a lot from my British Head Professional Shaun Case and his American colleague Mark Spray. After my time as assistant I have operated my own golf school on different locations in Germany. In 2007 I have moved to the Netherlands and have been teaching at the Netherlands and Belgium with my actual private indoor training facility located in Voorschoten between The Hague and Leiden in South Holland.
Apart from my time as assistant my way of playing and teaching golf has been influenced by Dave Pelz and David Leadbetter which I was lucky to get instruction from. My short game is further a lot inspired by the methods of Stan Utley and Dave Stockton. On the mental aspects I have developed a very good approach together with my good friend Andrew who is psychologist.
My professional activities are all about playing golf on the highest possible level and using that experience as well in teaching and organizing golf trips with customers. I speak native German and fluent English and Dutch. I speak and am able to communicate in French and Spanish as well.
If you have any questions regarding my professional activities, are interested in golf travel, private golf instruction or becoming a sponsor, feel free to contact me.
